About Forest & Forge knives
When you buy one of these made-in-Sheffield knives with handles crafted from a range of woods responsibly sourced in England, youβre buying the very best of British. Theyβre so expertly crafted that Forest & Forge are delighted to offer a 25-year manufacturerβs guarantee, so whether you choose just one knife from the range, or one of each β all with different types of wood handles β youβll have peace of mind that your moneyβs well spent.
Expertly made in Sheffield
Thereβs a lot to love about these eco-friendly British-made knives, but letβs start with the super sharp blades. Made in Sheffield where thereβs a long tradition of knife craftsmanship, the fully forged, full tang blade is expertly honed from high carbon steel (Rockwell 53-55 steel, if weβre getting technical) for the perfect mix of sharpness and longevity. Offering precision with every slice, theyβre a delight to hold and work with, and the reclaimed wood handles make them easy on the eye, too.
Each one is unique
The UKβs trees are many a varied thing, and they inspired Forest & Forge to mix things up a bit when choosing the native English hardwoods for the wooden handles. And it has definitely paid off. Using wood from cherry, ash, beech and horse chestnut trees makes each of the knives in this range subtly different in grain and colour; no two are exactly the same, yet they work wonderfully as a collection. Good news, as when youβve used one, we think youβll want the full set.
Responsibly sourced wooden handles
As well as looking gorgeous and feeling wonderfully balanced in the hand, the traditional wooden handles have fantastic eco credentials, too. Theyβre made from reclaimed wood sourced from tree surgeons who manage country estates near Malton in North Yorkshire. Over time, due to pruning, fallen branches or storm damage, the tree surgeons have a surplus of wood; anything thatβs just too beautiful not to use is carefully selected and supplied to Forest & Forge, ready to be crafted into these stunning knives.
Gift-boxed presentation
There isnβt a home cook or aspiring chef who wouldnβt appreciate the provenance and craftsmanship thatβs gone into these UK-made knives, so each one comes attractively gift-boxed, ready to be received, admired and cherished over many years of use.
25-year manufacturerβs guarantee.
